In June, The Holleran Group convened Black business leaders, community partners, and subject matter experts for a virtual discussion on the importance of building Black wealth in our communities. More than 60 attendees joined to listen to speakers including Anthony Graves, Jice Johnson from the Black Business Institute, Makisha Boothe from Sistahbiz Global Network, LaDawn Sullivan from The Denver Foundation, Shane Phillips from TBK Bank, Helma Gentry from TBK Bank, and Fathima Dickerson from the Welton Street Cafe.
The forum commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre. From May 31st to June 1st of 1921, Black residents, their homes, and businesses were targeted by white mobs in Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The mobs destroyed what was known as Black Wall Street and devastated generations of Black wealth.
The Holleran Group, co-developers of the Park Hill Golf Course project, have been hosting quarterly public panels to spark dialog on critical issues impacting communities. To learn more about the massacre, click here.
